Martial Arts Entertainment
Our Story
Scenic Fights began in 2015 when founder Jay Perez started making short fight films inspired by the classic Kung Fu movies he grew up watching with his father. After struggling to find a wider audience, he shifted his focus from film and TV to social media.
In 2017, he met Nick deGrazia at a well known NYC digital agency. They quickly connected over a shared vision of building a modern martial arts entertainment brand that blended stunt choreography, fight scene analysis, and martial arts education.
They pulled together a small team of friends and auditioned Logan Lo and Chad Vazquez for what would become Fight Scene Breakdown. The chemistry was immediate. Their expertise, humor, and on camera dynamic created something special. From that spark, the team built the Scenic Fights YouTube channel from the ground up and grew it into a global platform that has reached more than half a billion viewers, becoming one of the first modern martial arts content creators and inspiring many who followed.

Talent and Crew

Jay Perez
Jay Perez is the Founder and Creative Producer of Scenic Fights. His love for martial arts started early, watching Way of the Dragon with his dad. He created Scenic Fights in 2015 while making martial arts short films inspired by his favorite movies like Kung Fu Hustle, Fist of Legend, and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. It became a way for him to reconnect with his childhood after the passing of his father.
After meeting Nick in 2017 at a major digital media agency in NYC, the two transformed Scenic Fights from a small indie project into a leading social media martial arts brand, a space where martial arts entertainment is smart, fun, and welcoming.
A lifelong gamer, Jay’s favorite series include The Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound.

Nick deGrazia
Nick deGrazia is the Co-Founder and Creative Producer of Scenic Fights. What started as a childhood obsession with Jackie Chan and action movies like Beastmaster and RoboCop eventually pulled him into the entertainment industry.
Along the way, Nick has worn many hats, working as a director, editor, colorist, motion graphics artist, and VFX artist before becoming a VFX producer for film and television.
Scenic Fights is a labor of love and a creative outlet, a place to explore martial arts and make things purely for the joy of it while navigating life inside the film industry.

Pak
Pak is known as Scenic Fights' Judo and Wrestling specialist, Pak grew up training in Boxing and Taekwondo before leaning fully into grappling. Along with his years of wrestling and Judo experiences, he has also trained in Brazilian Jiujitsu and MMA since 2008 where he first met and began his friendship with our very own Chad.
His breakdowns blend realism, control, and unapologetically hard-nosed technique. His inspirations include Roberto Duran, Won Hee Lee, Miguel Cotto and the film series, Best of the Best.

Logan Lo
Logan Lo started his martial arts journey when he was in his teens, first learning northern kung fu, briefly, before focusing on Hung Gar and the Old Yang-style Taiji, teaching it for a limited time in the early 2000s. He then studied Kosen judo, which unfortunately stopped after a serious shoulder injury.
Logan turned to Pekiti Tirsia Kali, under Mataas Na Guro Agapito Gonzalez, for rehabilitation and that pivot became almost 20 years of study and teaching. During this time, he also acquired a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu from Renzo Gracie.
Logan continues to practice both Kali and BJJ regularly in NYC and teach Kali as a student instructor for MnG Gonzalez. His idols are Jackie Chan, Tom Bisio, and Donnie Yen. Favorite movies are Drunken Master, Iron Monkey, The Bourne Identity, and The Man from Nowhere.

Nero
Genaro “Nero” Colón is a Filipino-Puerto Rican lifelong martial artist who first began training in Boxing, Filipino Martial Arts, and Taekwondo the moment he could stand on two feet. After achieving his 1st Dan in TKD, Nero began cross-training in other styles to round out his skill set, namely Muay Thai and BJJ. He has earned an Instructor Certification in Filipino Martial Arts with a focus on Panantukan and Dumog, later achieved his 2nd Dan in TKD, and is currently a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Chad.
Nero has competed in many BJJ, TKD, and Kickboxing tournaments while also performing as a fight choreographer and stuntman for various film projects. He draws creative and technical inspiration from his favorite martial arts films such as John Wick, The Matrix, and Enter the Dragon, as well as from the martial artists he admires most, including Bruce Lee, Mark Dacascos, Scott Adkins, and Keanu Reeves.
When he’s not on the mats or on set, Nero works full-time as a Strength Coach for corporate clients across NYC.

Chad Vazquez
Chad Vazquez first fell in love with martial arts through anime, especially Dragon Ball Z. In 2007, the rise of the UFC introduced him to Jiu-Jitsu, and a friend led him to a free youth program in White Plains where he began training at 17. After high school, he moved to New York City, trained while in college, and eventually left school to pursue fighting full time. His second coach introduced him to MMA-style Jiu-Jitsu, which brought him into the Underground Combat League in the Bronx, a raw environment filled with fighters of every style.
His amateur career peaked with a sanctioned fight at Madison Square Garden as MMA was being legalized in New York. After that milestone, Chad shifted into coaching and eventually met the Scenic Fights team, blending his passion for teaching with breaking down fight scenes. In 2021, he started his own gym, Paxibellum BJJ, building a space that reflects his approach to training and community.
Today, he teaches with precision, energy, and the same enthusiasm that first hooked him as a kid watching Kamehamehas on screen.

Fattaah
Fattaah grew up in the raw landscape of Harlem, born in 1966 and shaped by a neighborhood battling gangs, drugs, and violence. At thirteen he discovered Martial Arts, a lifeline that became a lifelong discipline. What began as survival evolved into mastery of Tai Chi, Buddha Palm Wing Chun, and Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. A retired police officer and devoted father, he shifted from protecting the streets to teaching the skills that once protected him.
His approach reflects the precision of Bruce Lee, the charisma of Muhammad Ali, and the soul of James Brown. His greatest inspiration was his grandmother, who taught him to “overcome fear with action.” That lesson carried him through hardship and now fuels his mission to guide others.
Today, Fattaah brings the grit of Harlem to the artistry of Scenic Fights, transforming a lifetime of struggle into a legacy of discipline and purpose.

Johnny
Johnny is a child of the 80s, raised in the OG era of The Karate Kid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Being an overweight, nerdy kid, he did what any self‑respecting 80s nerd would do: he dove headfirst into martial arts at age 9.
He spent the next two decades training in every style he could reach, earning high ranks in Kempo Karate, Northern Shaolin, Hung Gar, and Southern Black Tiger Claw, along with experience in Jiu Jitsu, Kenjutsu, and Muay Thai.
After running his own Connecticut dojo for 11 years, he realized his true passion was storytelling through violence, which pulled him into indie pro wrestling, Renaissance Faire swordfighting, and a run as a Musketeer in the “All For One” stunt show at Busch Gardens.
He later immersed himself in historical fencing and stage combat, performing rapier duels and black‑powder pistol shows for live audiences and committing fully to life as a professional fight artist.
In Johnny’s incredibly rare free time, he is a Forever DM, Stage Director of the Lothal Temple Lightsaber Guild, and a sailor who is absolutely convinced the Golden Age of Caribbean Piracy is due for a comeback.

Thomas Jezik
Thomas Jezik is an award-winning New York City based cinematographer, gaffer, and editor with a deep passion for movies and visual storytelling. He has a versatile background capturing feature films, short films, branded and editorial content, and music videos, bringing a refined eye for lighting, camera, and edit work across projects for major editorial outlets and commercial clients.
His disciplined, physical approach to filmmaking is shaped by his years as a hockey player, where teamwork and awareness became core strengths on set.
His love of cinema comes from films like Terminator 2, Slap Shot, Back to the Future, The Shining, and The Dark Knight, which continue to influence his visual style and storytelling.

Rob Acocella
Rob Acocella, MPSE is a sound editor, sound designer, and re-recording mixer with over a decade of experience in audio for film and television. His work has spanned a large range of categories and outlets including everything from indie to national, shorts to feature length, and documentary to narrative.
A lifelong student of martial arts, Rob has trained in Japanese Jiu Jitsu and Bujinkan Ninjutsu. From the very beginning, Rob knew that Scenic Fights would be a natural fit, combining his skills and career goals with his passion for martial arts and self-defense.
His favorite movies include: The Dark Knight Trilogy, John Wick, Rocky 4, and Die Hard.

Kyle Tanner
Kyle Tanner is a New York based filmmaker with a background in camera and production, including work as an Assistant Camera for renowned media agencies in NYC and extensive freelance experience across films, commercials, and engagement shoots.
A lifelong movie fan inspired by stories like A Bronx Tale, Breaking Bad, and Taken, he’s drawn to projects that balance grit, style, and emotional weight.
When he’s not on set, Kyle enjoys riding motorcycles, playing competitive shooter games, and spending time with his wife and son. He takes creative motivation from Kobe Bryant’s humility, work ethic, and drive to improve, bringing that same mindset to every project.
